International sustainable development with particular interest in energy options in developing countries.
Xander Slaski heads PESD's research on energy services for low-income groups in developing countries, with a particular focus on biomass use in India. He is a recent graduate from Stanford University with a degree in economics and international relations. He wrote his thesis, on ethanol, as part of the Goldman Honors program in environmental science, technology, and policy. While a Stanford student, he led two alternative spring break trips to Washington, D.C. on the subject of sustainable development. He has a strong interest in Latin America and speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
