Stanford project strengthens legal education from Afghanistan to Rwanda
CDDRL, FSI Stanford in the news: The Chronicle of Higher Education on April 29, 2013The Chronicle of Higher Education featured the Afghanistan Legal Education Project (ALEP) in its current issue, an initiative led by CDDRL's Erik Jensen together with students from the Stanford Law School. Launched in 2007, ALEP began developing legal curricula for the American University of Afghanistan and has since expanded to Kurdish Iraq, Rwanda, and Timor-Leste.

Stanford’s Afghanistan Legal Education Project receives funding to train a future generation of lawyers
CDDRL, FSI Stanford in the newsThe Afghanistan Legal Education Project (ALEP) at the Stanford Law School received a $7.2 million grant from the U.S. State department to build a law degree program at the American University of Afghanistan. Erik Jensen, ALEP faculty advisor and CDDRL affiliated faculty member, was instrumental in securing this funding to help train a new generation of Afghan lawyers and to strengthen its legal institutions.
