Research Interests
the political economy and environmental effects of energy development, with a particular focus on China and India, advanced coal technologies and emerging developments in renewable energy
Mr. Carl is a Ph.D. candidate in the Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources at Stanford. His research is supported by a David and Lucile Packard Foundation Stanford Graduate Fellowship. Mr. Carl previously worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) of New Delhi, India, on energy and resource economics and served as a staff member at Environmental Defense. He received his B.A. with distinction in history from Yale University, and an MPA from the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.
