Himani Phadke is a research assistant at PESD working on our improved biomass cookstove in India project.  Himani is a first year student at Stanford University's MA program on International Policy Studies (IPS) where she is focusing on Energy, Environment and Natural Resources.

Himani grew up in Mumbai, India, and spent five years studying and working in the UK. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, followed by an MSc in Economics for Development from Oxford University, UK. She worked at LECG, an economic and financial consulting firm, and at the UK Treasury in London, where she worked on policies to manage investment bank failures. She is interested in sustainable development and energy and resource issues, given their importance to inclusive growth prospects in countries like India.
