Jonathan Strahl is a Master’s student in the Ford Dorsey Program in International Policy Studies (IPS) at Stanford University pursuing a concentration in Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources.  Jon joined PESD in Fall 2011 as a researcher investigating grid integration of renewable energy in the western United States.  He spent his past summer with the World Resources Institute.

He graduated as valedictorian of Claremont McKenna College with a dual degree in psychology and history. He then served as a Fulbright English teaching assistant living at an Islamic boarding school in Makassar, Indonesia. Upon returning to the US, he turned his attention to the energy sector, working for a residential energy efficiency startup in Portland Oregon before coming to Stanford. As an IPS student at Stanford, he is learning how to influence policymakers to create economically and environmentally efficient incentives for growth in the renewable energy sector.
