John Lewis discusses Sino-US relations on Chinese TV

CISAC Faculty Member and FSI Senior Fellow John Lewis, one of the world's leading scholars on China, sits down with Chinese news anchor Yang Rui in Beijing to talk about how U.S.-China relations have evolved since the fabled Ping Pong diplomacy of President Richard Nixon. In an in-depth interview, Lewis talks about the heady days of hosting the first-ever Chinese table tennis players and scholars here on the Stanford campus. "We knew we were part of history; it was thrilling," Lewis recalls. Watch the interview, with now-historic video, here or go to to the English-language CCTV website.
