Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall begins senior White House security position

Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, former scholar at CISAC and the Preventive Defense Project, starts today, April 8, as the White House Coordinator for Defense Policy, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Arms Control. Former U.S. Secretary of Defense and CISAC faculty member, William J. Perry, a colleague and friend, praised her work in defense policy, arms control and weapons of mass destruction: "Liz has a unique background and experience in all of those fields. I can't think of anybody else who has the same background."

Sherwood-Randall was previously the Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for European Affairs.
